These are a clever decoration that you see in parks and backyards all over. Basically these are parts of a face that are nailed or otherwise attached to a tree that look like the tree has a face. It looks something like a creature from the Wizard of Oz or the Lord of the Rings movies, which bring the trees to life.

There are a number of different types of tree faces. You can find some that are just amusing, such as a kissing face or some other goofy look you can find. Others choices are a number of seasonal faces. You could expect that there are those that are appropriate for Halloween, as a “spooky tree face” is just the ticket for the dark hours for those trick or treaters.
